Early Lessons in Singing Properly

Our eldest daughter Shawna had shown some potential as a singer when she was about three years old. She would easily memorize lyrics to songs and kept repeating lines until she mastered them.

When she turned four years old, we thought of getting a voice coach for her. We looked for a Bacolod music school for her and considered several. Finally, we enrolled her at Voice Chords Music Studio, under the tutelage of head Coach John Raymond Castiller.

It has been six years now. Shawna has found her niche in musical theater and we have never regretted sending her for training at Voice Chords Music Studio here in Bacolod City.

Check out Shawna’s recent Christmas recital where she sang Quiet, from Matilda the Musical.

Voice Chords Music Studio started with Coach Raymond felt that more than just performing, he had a higher purpose in life. He felt that he could teach and help young singers reach their dreams through voice coaching. And he did.

Why We Like Voice Chords

We were led to Voice Chords Music Studio after witnessing a summer recital event at a Bacolod mall. Here’s why:

  1. The student performers were pretty good.
  2. The coaching fees are reasonable.
  3. They try to keep the recital fees to a minimum.
  4. Coaches are kind, gentle, patient, especially with the children. That is important for a mom like me because I would like my daughters to learn and grow in a nurturing environment.
  5. The music center has the atmosphere of a family, under the nurturing attitude of the head coach.
  6. The show is about the students, not the coaches. While the coaches are introduced at the end of each show and Coach Raymond does give a speech, it’s usually very short. They consider recitals as a time to showcase their students’ talents. Their work is just reflected in the performances of the students.
Coach Raymond prefers to stay in the background and let his students shine.

  1. This voice lesson school is open this pandemic season? If yes I would like my daughter to enrol to be apart of it.
