After a long and dry summer, the Philippines openly welcomed the rainy season. We breathed a sigh of relief when the first drops of rain fell to quench our parched lands. While the rain is good for humans, plants, and livestock, it also brings another problem–stagnant water where mosquitoes that carry diseases can breed. Despite efforts on the household level, like putting on insect-repellent lotions or repellent patches, nothing beats eradicating mosquitoes in the fight against dengue. Here is a solution on the community level–the use of JENTIKA 1 GR Larvicide to kill dengue mosquitoes in their larvae stage. Read more.
Life Cycle of a Mosquito
Mosquitoes are very tiny insects that live less than 2 months. At the very least, they cause a lot of discomfort because the females bite and suck blood to reproduce. In some cases, their bites cause allergic reactions.
But the worst is that mosquitoes can be carriers of diseases like dengue and malaria. People who get bitten and infected by the dengue virus or the parasite that causes malaria can be hospitalized. If proper medical attention is not given, a patient could die. Such trouble from a little pesky insect!
The JENTIKA 1 GR Larvicide
JENTIKA 1 GR Larvicide is in granule form tested and approved for use in the Philippines market. It can be applied to standing water, shallow water, ponds, swamps, ditches, canals, and other mosquito breeding areas. It can also be applied to stagnant rainwater or lagoon water, with a specific dosage per volume of water.
The Jentika 1 GR controls larvae of all mosquitoes and is especially integral in disease-carrying ones. For the most effective control, it should be applied when the mosquito larvae are in the early larval stage. Reapplication is necessary when larval population build-up is observed.
This is ideal for use for barangays that want to clean up inner communities where dengue outbreaks are prevalent, with the help of the City Health Office.
