We appreciate good food and love coffee. And wouldn’t it be great to get both in one place? Especially one where our palates are elevated because of the food and coffee pairing service they offer. At the UCC Clockwork Coffee Bacolod, you get both of these.
Our Morning Coffee Routine
Hubby and I love our morning coffee routine. He brews a fresh pot each and every morning. I give him free rein over the beans or grounds he buys. Meanwhile, like the spoiled housewife that I am, I just comment on which ones I prefer.
As a rule, hubby takes his brewed coffee with sugar while mine is straight out black. I prefer it that way. It seems that our morning is incomplete without our caffeine fix.
The Arrival of UCC Clockwork Coffee Bacolod
We already have so many Bacolod cafes, each serving their own coffee blends. Moreover, each one has its own menu of meals, cakes, pastries, and snacks.
But somehow, the opening of UCC Clockwork Coffee Bacolod is like a whiff of fresh air. Unpretentious with its industrial structure, the owners decided on some classic appointments to make the atmosphere cozy and welcoming. And located right smack in the heart of Bacolod’s junction, it’s an easy stopover to where you’re supposed to go. Being near our home and with ample parking space, there’s no argument that we always find an excuse to slip here.
Japan’s Ueshima Coffee Co. (UCC) was founded by Tadao Ueshima, the Father of Coffee in Japan. UCC was introduced in the Philippines by entrepreneur Hubert Young in 2000. At present, they now have over 30 branches in Metro Manila, Antipolo, Laguna, Tagaytay, and Cebu. UCC Bacolod is their first in Western Visayas.
Good Food with Coffee
ACC Top Food Ventures is the franchisee of UCC Clockwork Coffee Bacolod. They also own the ones in Vertis North and Cliffhouse Tagaytay. During the opening, President and Managing Director Steve Choa, said, “Bacolod is a city that is known for having discriminate taste in dining. UCC is ready to satisfy the Bacolodnons’ cravings for good quality coffee and delicious food.”
Traditionally, UCC is known for its distinct Japanese-style coffee-making from the use of premium-quality beans. Like its branches in other countries, UCC in the Philippines has successfully lived up to the promise of its Japanese founder. That is, “Deliver flavorful coffee to as many people as possible anytime and anywhere.”
“We know that our food and beverage selection, especially our coffee, will capture the hearts of Bacolodnons,” Choa added.
UCC offers a full menu that includes Filipino and Japanese inspired food options. They have pastas, pastries, and main dishes prepared with the same care and quality as their coffees. Some of their dishes may be found in other Bacolod restaurants, but most of them are uniquely UCC. Moreover, some of their desserts have inspirations from the Land of the Rising Sun.
UCC Clockwork Food and Coffee Pairings for You
I got to try their Eggs Benedict and boy was it love! While the special blend is their bestseller, it’s like most brewed coffees.
But our new favorite is the sumiyaki. It is strong but has a unique flavor. I honestly didn’t quite like the aroma while it was being poured in front of me. It’s not like your regular coffee smell that wakes up the senses. But when I tasted it, oh my. I cannot quite describe it but it’s really memorable for me.
Anyway, here are some of the highly-recommended coffee and food pairings at UCC Clockwork Coffee.
- Benguet Philippine origin (pour over method) with the corned beef hash Benedict and mango crepe samurai
- Kori kohi with the Clockwork Monte Cristo and mango clair
- Honey brûlée cappuccino with the truffle mushroom pasta and berries and cream French toast tower
There are so many more products so go take your pick. Food takes some time to serve though, so I suggest not to go there while you are ravenous.
Before long, UCC Clockwork Coffee Bacolod would be one of the good things to do while in Bacolod.
