L’Fisher Hotel Bacolod is the biggest and the most plush hotel in the city many decades ago. With its high ceiling, a prominent staircase, and an ornate chandelier in the lobby, it gives the feeling of borrowed opulence–like you are being transported to the romantic Old World era. Every grand event of Bacolod’s finest was held here.
Eventually, they introduced their weekend buffet, which was widely accepted by Bacolodnons. Not scrimping on ingredients and choices, the buffet tables were divided into sections and presented so beautifully that it was a feast for all the senses. Mainstays would be the carving station, the decadent dessert section, and the entrees, which are just changed every week.
And we can never forget the free-flowing soda, juices, as well as beer! We loved our weekends!
Who remembers these good, old times? I do! Thankfully, these are back, with the menu designed and curated by Executive Chef Allen Alder. Four glorious hours of enjoying the meal and talking with family and friends. How lovely!

Every Friday, the buffet features dishes with different seafood as protein. While there are other choices, the bounty of the ocean is the star. It is just delightful!
International Night Saturdays
Saying there is a wide variety would sound like an understatement — but indeed, the variety of dishes is just overwhelming and utterly enjoyable. There is just something for the whole family and it is a delightful experience. From the Caesar’s Salad, to the pasta bar, the carving station, and even the crepe station, guests are entertained as their food is prepared and assembled right before them.
One observation that the kids and I had was the careful attention to detail. I am not sure if it’s because of the items we picked, but practically everything we sampled from the spread gave us sheer delight.
If you cannot wait for the preparations, the hot entrees are just waiting to be scooped out of the piping hot chafing dishes.
