Four barangays – Maao, Mailum, Ilijan, and Binubuhan – were chosen to receive the company’s assistance, a gesture of support that brought much-needed relief to approximately 1,000 residents.
Bottled water, a precious commodity in the wake of the ashfall, and face masks, a vital shield against harmful particles, were distributed to families struggling to cope with the eruption’s aftermath. The gratitude in the residents’ eyes was palpable, a testament to the impact of this simple act of kindness.
“We are struggling with a shortage of clean water, especially for our infants,” Rola Sanico, Kagawad of Barangay Mailum, shared, her voice tinged with relief. We are so grateful for this help. Many residents can breathe easier now, knowing they can access clean water and face masks.”
The gesture of support from Negros Power resonated deeply with the community, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggle.
