Five years ago, Iloilo City’s electricity distribution utility was also plagued with many problems that impeded progress. What made their situation dire were conditions, such as outdated infrastructure, frequent outages, and inefficiencies. That changed when MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) took over the city’s DU in 2020. In 5 years, the company has turned the tide — modernizing the grid, enhancing reliability, and empowering communities with its steadfast commitment to progress.

MORE Power embarked on an ambitious mission to overhaul Iloilo’s aging power distribution system. Under the leadership of President and CEO Roel Z. Castro, the company invested in cutting-edge substations, advanced metering systems, and modern transformers. These improvements drastically reduced system losses, curtailed power pilferage, and minimized outages, creating a more stable and efficient electricity supply.
With smart grid technology and proactive maintenance, the city now enjoys fewer disruptions, better voltage quality, and a generally improved energy experience. This positioned Iloilo as a leader in power innovation in the region.

Participated in by 214 golfers from across the country, the event raised P4.6 million, benefiting 18 local foundations and non-government organizations.
