What is the Kapamilya Black Box?

The Kapamilya Black Box is the new contraption that you can install on your regular TV at home and transform it into digital terrestrial television (DTT).

Here in the Philippines, ABS-CBN has partnered with ADTEL, technology provider for telecommunications and broadcasting, and IONTECH, distributor of information technology products, to bring us the Kapamilya Black Box. It is very easy to install and instructions are very easy to follow.

How much is the Kapamilya Black Box?

A unit of the Mahiwagang Black Box costs a one-time payment of P1,999 and it allows the owner to watch six channels of the ABS-CBN TVplus network. But if you want to avail of KBO (their cable movie channel), you pay and additional load of P30 and you can have KBO for the weekend (good for 2 days).

If you have several TV sets, you will need to buy a Kapamilya Black Box for each in order to access these channels.
