HOMETOWN ILOILO BUFFET by FRESKA
Don’t know what to eat? Have a heart meal of Filipino dishes at Hometown Iloilo Buffet by Freska.
There are just days when you just want to pig out on your favorite Filipino dishes. And if you are in Iloilo, PHILIPPINES, the best place to go to and indulge your cravings is Hometown Iloilo Buffet by Freska.
Located at Ayala TechnoHub Smallville-Boardwalk Area, Iloilo City, Freska serves 30 of the best seafood dishes and other Filipino delicacies daily. They cook their foods fresh in small batches every hour or whenever the containers need refilling. This to make sure that the foods they serve are fresh, not just for the day, but for the hour. After all, they are named Freska.
Chef Pauline Banusing says, this is also to keep the dishes that they serve clean and hygienic and to prevent contamination. And by the way, when food spills, there is a staff waiting to wipe the table off. They don’t allow the buffet table to become messy. It is understandable that accidents happen so they are ready to clean up.

Wide Variety of Filipino Dishes
So here, you get everything–from pancit palabok, to turo-turo dishes, to salads, and even desserts. They serve two kinds of rice–steamed and garlic-adobo rice. They have cream-based salads but I indulged myself in Pinoy favorites–vinegar-based salads. One such salad that I like is the Fish and Shrimp Kinilaw that I loaded with salted eggs, tomatoes, and sliced green mangoes. OMG! My mouth is watering.
Special shout out to the kinilaw at Hometown Iloilo Buffet by Freska because they make it as I liked it–reminding me of my childhood memories of my mother making kinilaw. I also indulged in one of my favorite dishes–callos, which they did very well.

My husband, on the other hand, had his fill of his seafood favorites — sweet and spicy crabs, shrimp tempura, calamares, oyster tempura, and fried eggplant–all with adobo rice. haha Our eldest daughter Dindin praised the “garlic-adobo rice, crispy kangkong, and palabok” because that’s all she ate actually along with some watermelon. So I guess I can say, there’s something for everyone here.
Aside from the loaded meal that you will get here, they also have desserts–different cakes, fruits in season, ice cream, and halo-halo. My daughter Shane and I went for halo-halo topped with ice cream. She also got a side dish of sweet corn kernels. I have to say this, their locally made ice cream is soooo good! 😀
Freska Rates and Promos
For only P350 per person, you get to enjoy all the food on the buffet table plus iced tea at Hometown Iloilo Buffet by Freska. If you prefer soda and beer, they also offer these at affordable prices. And one bonus for big groups, they sell soda in 1.5 liters, so you can share it at minimal cost per person.
Discounted rates apply to kids below 4 feet and it’s further discounted when the child is below 3 feet. I appreciate this because my kids don’t eat a lot! They eat mostly rice so it’s really a waste to pay the whole amount for their food.
Check out their announcements because they have regular promos for big groups and also discounted dining rates. They also have birthday promos. Follow the Freska FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Hometownbuffet.Freska/
Freska occupies a pretty small dining area inside the restaurant and they also have a few tables outside. But they serve more than a hundred people daily. You may wonder how but I noticed that the people of Iloilo don’t linger. They eat and when they get their fill, they pay, and leave. That gives way for space for more customers to dine. Great courtesy! 😀
If you are traveling to Iloilo, don’t miss a stop at Freska to partake of Iloilo’s finest hometown buffet.
