For a medium-sized city, Bacolod restaurants abound all over the the place, serving different kinds of specialties, with majority of them serving really good and affordable meals. Hiligaynons have a rich taste and we rather prefer the yummiest but also the unhealthiest ingredients because they give us comfort.

But of course, we have healthier alternatives, like organic meals served at the Fresh Start Organic and Natural Food Store. Sure, it’s a store for organic products but they also serve the most delicious meals and snacks made from fresh organic ingredients grown locally. They even make their own cheese!

There are so many items on their menu, from appetizers, to pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and rice meals–their menu is extensive. And of course, they have healthy drinks, too, like slushies, shakes, and juices.

Our family dined there last month as part of our Nutrition Month celebration. We are a homeschooling family so we try to find activities for our kids. We had a little chat about why organic foods are healthier. Our daughter had a white cheese sandwiched in wheat bread with some tomatoes and lettuce. Pretty good start because she liked it.

Fresh start organic dessert — For dessert, they gave us this on-the-house candied squash topped on orange camote fries and drizzled with turmeric caramel sauce. This is sooo good!

All in all, the food is good and when you think about their goodness, you would be happy that you dined there. But it is my suggestion that you eat immediately when the food is served because you will appreciate them better while they are hot.

There are so many food choices at Fresh Start that I’m sure veggie lovers and wellness enthusiasts will surely love.

Aside from the meals, get the freshest fruits, vegetables, and herbs from Fresh Start. Many are readily available daily at the store, while for some items, you may have to order them and pick them up at a later date. Bulk orders for restaurants also welcome. They also have organic products like toiletries, coffee, and household items.

Fresh Start is located at the Robinsons City Walk, Mandalagan, Bacolod City. They are open daily during mall hours, 10am to 9pm. They also have a branch at The District North Point, Talisay.
