The Philippine government has relaxed quarantine measures related to Covid-19 in select cities nationwide. With that, restaurants and other food merchants at SM Supermalls have now begun reopening their stores for safe dine-in services. Of course, they are following the directives given by the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) in order to do so.
Many Bacolod restaurants and food establishments, including the SM Foodcourt, have reopened with standard health protocols. They aim to bring back the fun in dining out and still guarantee both employee and customer safety.
Safe Dine-In Services
In Bacolod City, which is now under Modified General Community Quaranine (MGCQ), dining establishments and food merchants are allowed to operate at 30%-50% capacity. One of the more relaxed measures under MGCQ is to allow customers to dine-in, but following strict health protocols. The good thing is, many are back in business and many people also got their jobs back.
To ensure safe dine-in services, everyone is advised to do the following:
- Wear face masks
- Follow diagonal or solo seating to observe safe distancing
- Avoid using seats and tables with markers
Customers may also observe contactless sanitizing stations, one-way foot traffic floor markers, and regular disinfection of facilities around the dining establishments.
Meanwhile, the sneeze shields at cashiers and touch-free cashless payment options are mounted to minimize physical contact.
Three-Step Dining Etiquette
Moreover, customers are advised to follow the three-step dining etiquette:
- Buy food from a mall restaurant
- Stay for a quick bite
- Clean as you go (ClayGo)
We can save the physical and social pleasantries for better times. Right now, we just do everything to stay safe and healthy.
Extended Dining Spaces
Another safety promotion that SM has initiated is extended dining spaces. SM Malls have made use of their open spaces as alternative dining spaces. These areas are the event centers and atriums, which were traditionally used for fun and entertaining events.
Transformed into extended dine-in halls with solo or diagonal seating, customers can have a more comfortable and safe dine-in experience. Furthermore, select malls have outdoor seating for fresh aired-fun dining moments.
Coming Soon at SM City Bacolod
Watch out for this set-up soon at SM City Bacolod! The expansive main atrium that will be turned into a dining hall with a fun atmosphere is something to look forward to.
These safe dining measures and extended dining spaces are part of SM’s continuing efforts to promote health and safety even with the threat of Covid-19. They hope to bring back the fun in dining through its #SafeMallingAtSM campaign.
