Journey – A Solo Exhibit by KYLE JOCSON
Budding Bacolod Artist
KYLE JOCSON — a young Bacolod artist and art teacher is holding his first solo exhibit at the Maya Art Space of the Weego Bistro, located at the ground floor of GoHotels Bacolod, Mandalagan Bacolod City, Philippines. Entitled “Journey“, the exhibit was formally opened last September 1 and will run for the entire month.
Journey is a collection of artworks rendered in watercolor and acrylic. The warm tones and poignant scenes evoke so much emotion and passion–perfect decors in a cafe (a suggestion to boutique cafe owners hehe).
According to Kyle, “life is a never ending Journey“, hence the title of the exhibit. The “roads are winding, full of sharp twists and turns, sometimes forked, sometimes crossing. We meet people along our journey. Sometimes we walk, we ride or sometimes bump into them. But as you manage your journey towards your destination, the control is still with us. Whether we let people affect our journey is up to us.” The artist used the bicycle as a metaphor to represent a person on a journey. He is alone the person and he takes full control of the bike just as in his life.
Bacolod Art Lessons
If you are interested in having art lessons under Kyle, he has a small coffee shop and art gallery at Triangle Island Plaza, B.S. Aquino Drive, Bacolod City. You can visit him there to schedule your sessions. He teaches young and the old alike, as nobody is too old to dabble in art. You may also commission him to do customized artwork.
Another one of his medium is coffee — he does latte art. Yes, if you order latte from his coffee shop, he can also do such Instagrammable art for you on your favorite cup. That’s two of his favorite things– art and coffee.
Kyle guested at the SM City Bacolod Coffee Appreciation Week and he demonstrated on latte art. Check out his video below:
