Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant Revisited

Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant
We have enjoyed Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant while they were still serving at their previous location in Mandalagan, Bacolod City. But when they moved to their new location, we realized that we haven’t been to their new location anymore. So this post is about our recent visit that we thoroughly enjoyed. They are now located at Hi-Strip 5, Circumferential Road, Bacolod City.
Date Night
Hubby and I had a date night at Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant. We were able to try a full course meal from soup to dessert which was for us, impeccable. Though the owner was not around, the service of the staff is warm and friendly.
List of Bacolod Restaurants
They have so many things on the menu that you cannot thoroughly enjoy everything in just one visit to Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant. From seafood to meats to vegetables, they just have everything for every taste. I have to say, it is not to give them a review after just one visit. But in our single visit, we were really impressed with the dishes that we had.
Digital Menu
One of the things that sets Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant apart from other Bacolod restaurants is that they have a digital menu. You get to choose the items that you like from a Samsung tablet. It is complete with names, descriptions, prices, and photos. Once you entered your order, it is then fed into the computer of the cashier and also the kitchen. Pretty efficient, if I may say.
Our orders for a full course dinner came in just the right intervals, properly spaced out from the first item to the last, so we were able to savor each one.
So without further ado, check out what we had.
Full Course Dinner
Soup
As a meal opener, we chose the French Onion Soup (P139). When it was served before me, the steam from the hot bowl filled my nostrils with the aroma of this classic soup. It’s made just right and oh-so-flavorful. It’s a small bowl, but we only ordered one to share so that we have more room for what is to come. Consume the soup while it’s still hot. And caution: the bowl is really hot, too.
Starters
We like Hummus and pita bread and so hubby and I ordered their Tuscan Hummus served with Pita Wedges (P129). The hummus tastes authentic, though I didn’t notice if it had sumac on it. It came with many slices of pita bread made of wheat. My only complaint is that the hummus is not enough for the whole platter of pita bread. Or I just eat a lot of hummus? hehe
Salad
We picked the Green Insalata (P249), which is a big order that may be share by two to four persons. But if you are diet conscious, the whole serving is heavenly. Their honey-balsamic dressing tastes just right and ample.
Pasta
Since hubby and I both like seafood, we picked Seafood Marinara (P299) for sharing. Pasta is al dente with sauce that has just the right acidity to keep the flavors of the seafood while keeping the “lansa” taste at bay. It’s a big plate so it can be shared by two persons.
Main Course
For the entree, Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant has selections of pork, beef, chicken, fish, and seafood. Hubby ordered his favorite Tenderloin Salpicao (P269), a bestseller in the house. It is no wonder why this is a bestseller — tender, juicy chunks of beef with lots of garlic, smothered with a flavorful sauce. It is served with rice and vegetable sidings.
I had a hankering for my favorite fish so I had Glazed Salmon (P419), which is served with blanched string beans and sweet corn. I will have to tell you that the sweet corn is more than just a siding. Place some corn kernels with every bite of your salmon and it just complements the flavor of the fish. Also served with rice. Salmon is also available in Lemon Caper Sauce.
Dessert and Coffee
Of course, always leave room for dessert because Cookies ‘N Crumbs Cafe and Restaurant has some of the best desserts in Bacolod. We had their pecan pie ala mode, a slice of red velvet, and a chocolate chip cookie with cappucino.
Needless to say, everything was just so satisfying. And I am not saying this because our meal was courtesy of the restaurant. You just have to try them. We have yet to fully experience all the dishes that they offer, as they also have snacks as well as a variety of iced blended drinks. There’s just so much to enjoy here.
